Integrating Insurance into Total Package. Micro insurance should be seen
not as adjuncts to micro finance programs but must be seen as low
ticket insurance policies which also deliver promptly and efficiently on
the occurrence of the insured event. Another aspect which should be
adequately addressed is the claim servicing. The experience hitherto has
been that, with notable exceptions, claim experience on micro insurance
products has not been of the same level as it is for the normal
insurance product even if covering similar risks. The insurance
companies are indeed taking steps to address the issues raised in this
