HICC, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. IT & ITeS companies in the state have provisionally registered a turnover of Rs.53, 000 crore for 2011-12 fiscal. Total export revenues earned by the ICT sector has grown at 35% annually from rs.1000 crore in 1998-99 to Rs. 36,000 crore in 2010-11. The Andhra Pradesh Government will be extending its e-Governance initiative, ‘Mee Seva’ to all the districts. The ‘Mee Seva’ is offering about 30 services such as offering birth and death certificates to people in 13 districts. Presently about 28,000 requests are being processed every day which will be increased up to over one lakh transactions a day covering at least 100 services soon in near future. For better security and law and order, the government is planning to install around 3,000 odd cameras at important locations in the city. The Chief Minister requested the union government to consider Andhra Pradesh as one of the states for the proposed pilot project on electronic system design and manufacturing clusters.
